Today’s proverb (Prov. 3:33) – I take a quick look at what it means when God blesses the home of the just.
Our proverb for today is:
Featured in this proverb is the “house” or the “home”. I am certainly going to preach that sermon on having the favor of God. This is shown more clearly of those who are considered just. The just are all of those who live a life of obedience to the Lord and His way. What makes the just justified is God. So, in this proverb, we see that the just are rewarded (favored) for their obedience. God blesses the home – that is the dwelling place or habitation of the blessed.
This reminds me of Psalm 23. The Lord leads his sheep to dwell in green pastures and by the still waters forever. Whereas, the opposite is true for those considered to be wicked (lawless and disobedient). A curse is on the house of the wicked – there are no green pastures or still waters ahead for the wicked. Being blessed by the Lord forever certainly sounds like find favoring in the Lord’s eyes. God blessing the dwelling place and habitation of the just certainly sounds like finding favor in the Lord’s eyes.
